So quickly, as these things do. This past week, the authors Waterburn, LBGrant, our editor FAJF, and I went to the RT (Romantic Times) Writer’s Convention in New Orleans.
So did about 2,000 other (mostly) women. Talk about feeling like a small fish in a big pond! It’s easy to feel good about what we write when the praise is coming in thick on Literotica. But sitting in a ballroom with that many other writers makes me realize how hard we will have to fight to stand out. And somehow, instead of making me curl up in a ball and weep in resignation, it’s inspired me to start moving. I WILL learn how to Facebook, I Will learn how to promote myself.
Sigh. I WILL edit Odyssey so the story makes more sense.
That’s the biggest hurdle of all. I have no idea where to start. I am desperately hoping my editors extrordinaires, FA (and Baron VonKarmann), have some ideas for me.
It was amazing to meet these wonderful women in person. Whatever the future has in store for us – fame and fortune, or obscurity – I will forever be richer for having met them and started on my journey with them as my cheerleading squad. May the goddess give us many years of friendship.
